Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition 2012
Monday, January 16, 2012 at 5:39PM The CDPC would like to congratulate the students from St. Mary's Academy, Carlow on their success at the Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition 2012.
They won the Irish Aid/Self Help Africa prize for their outstanding project on "The comparative analysis of raw versus pasteurised milk and the potential use of natural preservatives in milk to mitigate the effects of poverty in rural Africa’
The students and their teacher will travel to Ethiopia at Easter time with Patsy Toland from Self Help Africa.
The school has been engaged with the outreach programmes of the Combat Diseases of Poverty and Self Help Africa for the last 5 years and their teacher, Aileen Tennant worked on the NCCA validated course "Development Issues-a course for Transition Year".
